Coffee Country of January - Brazil

by Jacque Shipp

This month we will celebrate Brazil. For every bag of tea blended coffee you purchase we will donate one dollar to One Tree Planted and one tree will be planted in Brazil.

With Brazil producing about a third of the world's coffee it is the leading coffee producer. The crop was originally introduced to the country in the 18th century and now, 220,000 coffee plantations now cover roughly 10,000 square miles in Brazil. Brazil is also the largest consumer of coffee after it passed the United States in the mid 2010s.

Most Brazilian coffees give a clean cup with notes of chocolate and caramel and a sweet nutty finish. Brazil is truly worthy of being July's coffee country of the month.
